Installation of these air conditioning units is more involved than that of the Monobloc. However, if installed correctly they can be as effective as a comparable fixed system. Typical cooling capacities range from 3 to 5.5kW, with hose lengths of 2 – 5m. Units operate from a three pin 13 amp 240v supply with condensate removed automatically via a pump to the outdoor unit.
For: High cooling capacity. Can be installed through an open window. Minimal operator input.
Against: Outdoor unit is heavy, requiring consideration if window needs to be closed out of hours for security.
